He loves his new dinosaur...especially while wearing his new dinosaur pajamas.
We drove to Ponca Christmas morning. I thought Tony was crazy when he wanted me to help him chew up and spit out carrots outside. Apparently it's a tradition with his kids to have half-eaten carrots on the ground around the house on Christmas morning. He leaves the carrots with Santa's milk and cookies so Santa can feed them to the reindeer. I've never heard of something like that before, but maybe we'll start a new tradition with it too.
Mom and Kyan are just hanging out.
Kyan got a big bag of Mega Bloks!
Here is Kyan opening a fun book with sound buttons.
Kyan was so exhausted after opening all of his presents.
Dad and Kyan napped right there on the floor around all of Kyan's new toys.
Of course granny and Kyan played the organ together. He loves pushing all of those keys.
Then granny tried to show Matt how to play the organ. Apparently it's a lot different from playing a piano.
Saturday night Kyan got to open one of his Christmas presents from Aunt Shelley and Uncle Jason. Woohoo! Talking Alphabet Magnets like the ones on Aunt Mikey's fridge! He was soooo excited to have some of his very own.
I think he played with them all evening. We wouldn't know because...
we got to go out all by ourselves while Kyan stayed at home with Mimi. Wow! We went to Matt's company Christmas party downtown (and yes, of course we got lost in the Kansas City ghetto at night). We finally made it there and had a good time. It's nice to get out once in awhile, just the two of us. Thanks Susan for watching Kyan so we could go to the Christmas party.
Sunday Susan gave Kyan his first professional hair cut. It looks so great. I love it.
Kyan still loves his baby piano that he's had since he was tiny and kicking it in the crib.
Speaking of crib...now that he's been putting himself to sleep, bedtime and naptime are a breeze. He doesn't cry at all anymore when I lay him down. When he wakes up he's smiley and happy. I can't believe it took us over a year to figure that out.

He loves looking at his books. It is still one of his favorite things to do.
Bath time is getting funner. He LOVES taking a bath. Now he likes dunking his face in the water and thinks it's hilarious. We've also been practicing drinking from his sippy cup without the lid. So now he loves to use the bath cup to drink the bath water. Yuck. But good practice.
His second favorite toy upstairs is our phone and answering machine. We have it hidden (obviously not very well) behind our bedroom door because that's where the phone plug is. We have no table to put it on. I guess we should move it before he calls China and we have a ridiculous phone bill or something.
His most favorite toy upstairs is definitely the toilet paper (and the toilet). He will close himself in the bathroom (he likes his privacy) and unroll all the toilet paper. That's fine because we'll just pick up a piece to use when we go to the bathroom. But now he's into tearing the paper into teeny tiny pieces. He'll spend a good 20 or 30 minutes working on it. He also likes wrapping it around himself and stringing it around the entire upstairs.
