Swimming and Bubbles

We set Kyan's pool up in the garage last weekend since it's been so hot outside. Kyan has been running a fever since Sunday morning and it finally went down last night. I think the the water felt pretty good to him. We also played with the bubble gun that Mimi and Papa got him for his birthday. He really liked trying to catch the bubbles. I think he's teething since he's been chewing on everything he can get his hands on.

Jammin

Matt is playing his guitar while Kyan plays the drums. I think he may be a little drummer like his mom.

Ball Popper & After Church

Kyan absolutely loves his ball popper. Sometimes he likes to take all the balls out and turn it into a face blower.
Here are a couple of pictures of Kyan running around the house in his cute little church clothes. I thought he looked pretty spiffy. He wouldn't keep on his shoes though.

Distracted

I was trying to get a video of Kyan walking and he got distracted by the camera. I thought all of his facial expressions were funny in this.

Like Father, Like Son

I think Kyan started this and dad went along. Just two goofy guys playing around.

Kyan Walking

I know this video is pretty boring but some people are really wanting a walking video of Kyan. I've had a tough time getting a decent walking video because when he sees me holding the camera he stops to look at it. That's good though. I guess that means he knows to hold still and smile when mommy's holding the camera. So anyway, here's the little guy walking down the hall. He's been doing real good with his balancing. Hope you like it, mom.

New Random Pictures

Here are a few pictures I've taken over the past week:
Kyan loves his new book that he got from his Aunt Mikey.
Here is Kyan practicing some of his new sumo wrestling moves. Watch out all you one year olds out there. Kyan says, "Bring it on, Parker. I'm ready for you this time."
Kyan thinks tickle me Elmo is pretty funny. He was terrified of the toy when he first got it. Elmo's not so scary anymore.
Striking a pose for the paparazzi.
Isabelle and Kyan just hanging out. We're trying to spend more one on one time with the girls now that Butters is gone.
Kyan got this Cars couch for his birthday.
Kyan is leaning in for a pose with his friend the dog.

Kyan's Birthday in KC

On Sunday we got together at my cousin Heather's house in Olathe to have lunch and a mini celebration for Kyan and Carli's first birthdays.
All the kids always flock to Matt. Here is Matt with Kayleigh, Carli, and Mastin.
My cousins got Kyan a fire truck cozy coupe for his birthday. It's really cute...I've never seen one before. It has lights on top and a siren hand radio thing inside. Carli is trying to check out the inside while Kyan is sitting in it. Right after I took this picture Carli reached past Kyan for the hand radio and Kyan grabbed her hand and bit it. I don't know what I'm going to do with my little vampire boy.
Everyone had a good time with the fire truck. Isabella is yelling at her sister Kayleigh. Poor kid. It took forever for her to get a turn sitting in the car.
The kids went swimming after lunch. It was Kyan's first time in a swimming pool. Here are Kyan and Carli in their swimming suits.
Kyan really liked the pool a lot. His dad helped him until he was ready to sit in the water.
Here are Isabella, Kyan and Carli standing in the "baby pool." Bella is admiring the big kid pool with the fun slide.
Kayleigh and Mastin finally ended up in the baby pool with Kyan. He probably would've sat in that pool all afternoon. We may have to get him his own pool sometime.

Kyan's First Birthday in Fayetteville

We went to Fayetteville, Arkansas over the weekend and celebrated Kyan's first birthday at Matt's sister's house. It was a quick trip but lots of fun. It was especially great getting the boys together again.
One of Kyan's presents was a big ride-on school bus. He loves it. It has lots of fun buttons to push...over and over and over again.
Kyan's birthday cake was a Baby Einstein cake. He loves Baby Einstein.
Everyone is clapping after singing Happy Birthday.
Matt played the guitar for Callahan and Kyan in the backyard. Callahan is Kyan's cousin who is 20 months old and sooo cute. Kyan weighs more than Callahan right now. I think Kyan weighs more than Mimi too.

Look at those two boys! Callahan gives me a glimpse of what Kyan will be doing right around the corner. I'm so happy they're so close in age. It'll be fun watching them grow up together.
Aunt Mikey and Kyan. He really liked her "Flintstones" necklace.
Here's Kyan, Michael Ann, Callahan, Wade, me, and Matt holding Carson. Wade looks like he's got a super hero mask on his face from the sun.

Mimi and Papa sitting with the boys.
What a great picture of Mimi and Papa. This one's going in a frame.
There we are.
Matt and Carson stuffed pillows in their shirts and showed off their muscles.

Kyan's new dance

Kyan has started a new silly dance when Matt plays the guitar for him. He puts his bottom in the air and shakes it. He did this for a long while this time. I don't know where he comes up with this stuff.

Butters

Here is a video of Kyan and Butters on her last day with us. Kyan has learned to feed (and tease) Butters from his highchair. He thinks she's hilarious, especially when she licks the food right off of his hand. Butters was getting annoyed because the bananas kept sticking to his hand when he'd try to throw them to her. I know Kyan will miss playing with her. I don't know who is going to clean off his highchair after he eats now...Isabelle is too short and Abbey is too well-mannered.

Butters

Fourth of July was our last day with Butters. We took her to Fayetteville over the weekend to go live with a new family. They are a really great couple who I know will take wonderful care of her now. Michael Ann introduced us to Linda, who was Carson's and will be Callahan's preschool teacher this year so Michael will get to see Butters every day. It was sad leaving her and I'll really miss her a lot but I know she'll be happier living with Linda and Dale.
